2018 Winners
Poster Competition

The aim of the poster competition is to reward the best posters which, in the opinion of the judge, are most likely to attract people to attend and which best combine a summation of what the work is about with good design.

There were two categories: Best Design for a Professional Production and Best Design for a Community Production, with eligiblity being limited to any show staged between July 2017 and June 2018.

Five finalists in each category were selected and the winners were announced at Parliament Buildings on September 3rd by Peter Biggs, former Chair of CNZ and currently head of one this country’s leading advertising agencies.

Each winner received $1,000 and each finalist $100.

There were 52 entries in the Professional Production category, and 28 in the Community Production category.

Theatre New Zealand (which has been running its own poster competition for many years) organised this event.

The NZ Theatre Month Poster Competition is sponsored by The Roger Hall Theatre Trust (a non-application fund administered by Arts Foundation of New Zealand
