What happens when you bring together some of New Zealand’s most prominent contemporary theatre-makers?

Come and find out as we open a discussion around the processes, challenges and successes discovered through creating theatre for New Zealand and international audiences.

Facilitated by Dan Bain, Associate Director of Christchurch’s much loved Court Theatre, panel guests will include New Zealand’s most prolific and celebrated playwright (and founder of New Zealand Theatre Month) Roger Hall; Massive Theatre Company’s Artistic Director, Sam Scott; Co-founder of Indian Ink Theatre Company, Jacob Rajan; independent playwright (specialising in Te Reo Maori theatre) Hohepa Waitoa; and Mel Luckman, freelance director and co-creator of newly formed, Christchurch based theatre company, Cubbin Theatre.

This is your chance to bring your own burning questions to the floor whether from your perspective as an emerging artist or simply a long-time lover of New Zealand theatre.

"I know that a play does not really exist until it is performed, yet equally and paradoxically, it cannot join its country's literature until it is published. This seems to me, in its small way, emblematic of the larger climate of recession and diminution, the current shrinkage to atrophy of the audacity of vision in which our country was founded."
