Kick off spring with a rehearsed reading of an acclaimed play which has wowed audiences throughout New Zealand and overseas.

The play is set in the 1990s, when Charles emigrates from Samoa to join his cousin Elizabeth and her family in New Zealand. Elizabeth attempts to keep the peace as two different ways of life collide, but intergenerational, familial and personality clashes soon start to crack open.

Fresh Off the Boat was first performed at the Arts Centre in Christchurch on 17 November 1993, a significant moment for local theatre company Pacific Underground - NZ's longest running Pacific performing arts group.  Together The Court and Pacific Underground celebrate their flagship production from 25 years ago.
