Waiheke playwright Christine Day Beardon brings to life a forgotten mystery in Auckland's history. She presents a dramatised reading in period costume of her play Incendiary 1901, based around a fatal fire at the Grand Hotel Auckland.

A sensation at the time, it took place on the eve of the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall's royal tour of New Zealand.

Supported by Auckland Creative Communities (Waiheke) and Civic Trust Auckland (City).

Produced on Waiheke Island by Grow Your Own Productions using Waiheke actors.

There will be an additional performance at 7.30pm, Sat 6 Oct, Artworks Theatre, Waiheke Island.
