The Isaac Theatre Royal team invite you to visit Christchurch’s splendid historic theatre and share in the venue’s history.
Come in for a coffee, follow the literal 'ups and downs' though a a aelf-directed visual tour of the Theatre Royal that started her life across the road, stood for many years in its current location until being deconstructed and sympathetically rebuilt post-quakes with all the bells and whistles of a modern venue.
Although the September season of Les Miserables is not part of NZ Theatre Month, Showbiz Christchurch welcome you to some dynamic displays around the foyers and give you a glimpse of the set of their latest production.

The Theatre re-opened on 17 November 2014. The project was significantly more elaborate in design and complexity of construction than originally estimated, with the Theatre essentially being rebuilt from Façade to Proscenium Arch. The rebuild and restoration had significant challenges throughout, making it one of the most intricate building projects in the earthquake damaged Christchurch CBD with an overall rebuild cost of NZ$40M.
