- Toi Whakaari - NZ Drama School
- Sep 21-22
- Te Whaea Theatre, National Dance and Drama Centre, 11 Hutchison Road, Newtown
- Wellington
Acknowledging the production side of NZ Theatre, Toi Whakaari’s annual celebration of the art of costume features the work of costume construction students supported by staff and students from all the school’s disciplines.
Toi Whakaari graduates eight students every year from the Diploma in Costume Construction. These graduates go on to careers in the wardrobe departments at ballet and opera companies, film and television productions and in theatres, in New Zealand and overseas.
In this Showcase production we see the results of their final year major work - eight months of research and construction - as well as costumes made by first year students in pattern-making or costume history classes.
